Quietly contrary.

MUTINE is an independent creative studio working across interiors, live experiences, and designed environments. Rooted in research and storytelling, we bring a distinct sensibility to fashion shows, brand events, and performances from the first concept to the final detail.

Our practice brings together creative direction, spatial and set design, and creative production. We develop narratives into spaces, shaping layouts, furniture, materials, light, and sound into a considered whole.

Working alongside brands, agencies, and specialist collaborators, we carry the creative vision through design development and into realization, with an eye for the unexpected.

  • Creative Direction

    Research, concept development, and storytelling for brands and live experiences. Establishing the creative vision through visual research, moodboards, narratives, and pitch presentations.

  • Spatial & Set Design

    Interior and set design for fashion shows, commercial events, and live performances. Space planning, furniture selection, material specification, and development of design proposals and 3D visualizations for production handoff.

  • Creative Production

    Creative & technical development, coordination, and supervision from design through installation and rehearsals. Overseeing material sampling, fabrication, lighting, sound, and digital content in collaboration with specialist teams.

  • Catherine Bella, Founder

    CATHERINE BELLA

    Catherine Bella is a creative director and designer, and the founder of MUTINE. With a background in interior design and a master’s in Narrative Environments from Central Saint Martins, her practice connects storytelling, spatial design, and creative production. Her experience spans Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Bureau Betak, and Perron-Roettinger, where she served as Head of Interiors and Live Events. Across interiors, fashion shows, exhibitions, and live performances, she brings a conceptual eye and a sensitivity to material and atmosphere, carrying ideas from research and narrative through design development and realization.
